Approx trekking: 53km.
Roopkund Lake is situated at an elevation of 5,029 mts above sea level in the base of Trishul peak and Nanda Ghunti. Roopkund is also known as ‘Mystery Lake’ since human skeletons and remains of horses from the Paleolithic age was found here. The lake is nestled amidst panoramic mountain scenery, surrounded by rock-strewn glacier. Roopkund remains frozen for almost all the time of the year. The skeletal remains around Roopkund are believed to be 500-600 years old.
While traveling to Roopkund you get a chance to trek through villages rich in pahadi culture, visit high alpine meadows offering enchanting greenery and the sacred Bedni Kund holding crystal clear water. The trek goes steep to Roopkund from Bedni Bugyal. Bhaguwabasa is situated at an elevation of 4,100 mts above sea level, situated 5 kms short of Roopkund. The weather is unpredictable at such high altitudes so do carry raincoats.
Roopkund Legend- The great ‘Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra’ is held in every 12 years from Nauti village near Karnaprayag to Hemkund near Roopkund. This yatra is dedicated to Goddess Nanda. A large number of people from Garhwal and Kumaon take part in this tough holy yatra.
Many stories were also made about the mysterious human skeletons of Roopkund. According to research it was indicated that the people were from the 12th century to the 15th century who died of hailstorm. But it is still a mystery that what were those people doing there.
The Itinerary for the event will be as follows:

Meeting Point: Mumbai Central at 9.00 pm
Start from Mumbai by Golden Temple Express by 9.30 pm
Day 01: 2nd Oct, Friday
Reach Nizzamuddin by 6.35 pm
Travel from New Delhi to Old Delhi by Local vehicles
Dinner Enroute
Start from Old Delhi to Kathgodam by Ranikhet Express (10.25 pm)
Day 02: 3rd Oct, Saturday
Reach Kathgodam (5.00 am)
Travel Kathgodam – Lohajung (213 km)
Night stay in tourist lodge
Day 3: 4th Oct, Sunday
Lohajung – Didna (8 km)
Night stay in rest house or tent.
Day 4: 5th Oct, Monday
Didna – bedini bugyal or ali bugyal (10 km)
Night stay in tent.
Day 5: 6th Oct, Tuesday
Bedini – patharnachni (5 km)
Night stay in tent.
Day 6: 7th Oct, Wednesday
patharnachni – bhagwabasa (6 km)
Night stay in tent
Day 7: 8th Oct, Thursday
Roopkung summit (3 km)
Back patharnachni via bhagwabasa Night stay in tent.
Day 8: 9th Oct, Friday
Patharnachni – lohajung (15 km trek & 15 km by car)
Via warn village & warn to lahajung by car. Night stay in rest house.
Day 9: 10th Oct, Saturday
Lohajung – kathgodam
Start from Kathgodam by Ranikhet Express (10.30 pm)
Day 10: 11th Oct, Sunday
Reach Old Delhi by 4.00 am
Travel till Delhi Rohila
Travel towards Mumbai by Garib Rath by 9.20 am
Day 11: 12th Oct, Monday
Reach Mumbai by 8.00 am
The cost for the tour will be INR 10,500/- per head,which includes,
First aid medical kits and oxygen cylinder.

Accommodation. Tented or Tourist lodge.
