TMI : New Year Trek To Padargad on 1st-2nd Jan 2011

Hello Mates,

We are glad to arrange a night trek to Padargad 1st-2nd Jan 2011. (Starting on 1st night)

Little Info About The Fort
Type : Hill forts 
Fort Range : Bhimashankar Range
Base Village : Khandas
Grade : Medium
Fort Height : 2002 feet (610 m)


Situated at the backdrop if Bhimashnakar; Padargad is a small fort with almost no ruins but just few water tanks and caves.


What makes it trekker’s delight is the climb to this fort which is considered as a medium grade as it demands technical skill and equipments. 

To reach the top of Padargad one has to cross fewrock patches and a chimni climbwhich makes it the most trilling experience.

Once you reach atop you can enjoy the breathtaking view of the entire bhimashankar ranage. One can seeSiddhagad and Bhimashankar from here.




The approx Itinerary for the trek will be as follows:
Catch the 6:24 PM 12car Fast Karjat local from Mumbai.
Get down at Karjat by 8:20PM and Will have dinner at Karjat
Proceed towards the base village Khandas by private vehicle.
Reach Khandas by 10.00 pm.
Start the trek and reach the base of padargad by 12.30am.
Rest at the base of Padargad till morning.
Breakfast and move towards Padargad by 7am.
Reach atop in 2 hrs.
Explore the fort and start the descend by 11am.
Reach Padarwadi by 1pm
Lunch @ Padarwadi.
Descend To Khnadas via Shidi route.
Reach Khandas @ and To Karjat from there By 5 pm
Evening refreshment at Karjat.
Reach Mumbai by 9.00-9.30pm tentatively.

Things to be carried 
Identity Proof. (must)
Lunch for Sunday. (must)
Water 3.5 liter Compulsory.
There is no water source till we reach Padarwadi next day so please carry the specified quantity.
Torch (must), good working torch with extra pairs of batteries
Proper beddingFew Old Newspapers.
Camera
Some ready to eat food items.
Medicine those if you require usually.
Good trekking shoes, (must)
A haversack to put in all the things to be carried. ( No sling bags/ jholas please) (must)
Avoid wearing gold ornaments.
It would very cold there so carry your bedding accordingly.

There have been reported few loot incidences in this area so please avoid carrying valuables or extra cash. In any such incidence Trek Mates India will not be responsible for any kind of losses. 

The charges of the trek will be Rs 250/- per head, which includes 
Travelling from Karjat till Karjat, 
Breakfast,
Evening Refreshments.

(Lunch & Dinner expenses would be on TTMM basis)

Few rules we would like our participants to follow:
We follow a strict policy of "no trace" trekking, "Take nothing but memories and photographs, leave nothing but footprints".

Do Not Litter: Participants are requested to carry the waste back to the city and dispose it off in dustbins.

No Smoking, tobacco and alcohol: Smoking cigarette, chewing tobacco or related products and consuming alcohol is strictly prohibited on the trek. Anyone found in possession of the same or consuming it will be expelled from the trek. NO REFUND will be provided.
(Smoking will only be permitted before the trek starts and after the trek is over with prior consultation of the Leader and the person will have to move away from the group to smoke.)


Respect the Heritage: Participants should not deface or damage any monument by writing or scribbling on them. Please help us to conserve and preserve our heritage along with our trek mates.

Be a group: It is of utmost importance that all participants stick together in the group, in the event of any ‘deviation’ by the participant without the consent of the ‘Trek Leader’, he/she/they will be considered as ‘Independent/s’ and will no longer be considered as a part of the group.

Pay attention: Each member will be responsible for his/her own safety and baggage.

In case of any injury, sickness, accident, death or any other casualty or loss or damage of valuables or luggage or any equipment; Trek Mates India, it’s instructors, organizers, volunteers or any other person involved wholly or partially, either individually or jointly, shall not be responsible in any manner for the same and no claims of the participants, parents, guardians, relatives or friends of participants will be entertained.
Any violation of the above rules will be dealt with seriously, and may involve expulsion from the trek or event, and no refund is admissible in such cases.

Adventure activity is arranged considering normal weather. In case of occurrence of any natural calamities, if event is cancelled, in such circumstances NO REFUND will be provided.

The leader’s decision will be final and binding on all members. No Arguments will be entertained.
Trek mates India reserves all the right to change/deviate/cancel the plans without prior notice. No arguments or refunds will be entertained.
