Goa Jungle Tour with Trek Mates India on 27th Sept to 3rd Oct '13.

Dear Mates, Many of us have experienced the clear and shiny beaches of Goa... but we at Trek Mates India would want you to be a part of the Goa Jungle tour from 27th September to 3rd October ’13.

The West Coast Tropical Evergreen Forests and Moist Deciduous Forests of Goa have a lot to offer us.  The forest canopy is almost closed and the availability of grass is very limited. There are several perennial water sources in the state’s jungles resulting into good factor for wildlife.

Wild mammals recorded in the sanctuary include: black panther, barking deer, bengal tiger, Leopard, bonnet macaque, common langur, civet,flying squirrel, gaur, malabar giant squirrel, mouse deer, pangolin, porcupine, slender loris, sambar, spotted deer, wild boar and wild dog.

Adding up to these are a wide range of Birds, Butterflies, Insects and Reptiles.

To add up to the cake, we will have Naturalist with us for better knowledge about the nature.

The itinerary for the event is as follows:

27 Sept 2013

Departure by 12133 Manglore Exp . at 10.15 pm from Mumbai CST .

28 Sept 2013 

Reach Madgaon station at 8.50 am

9.30  a.m.             Arrival at Nature’s Nest on the border of Bhagwan Mahavir  Wildlife Sanctuary

9.30 - 10.00         Check in, get fresh

10.30- 12.30        Explore area around (excellent for butterflies and herpetofauna)

1.00 p.m.             Lunch

3.00 -7.00             Trail to Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary

8.00 p.m.             Dinner (Day travel 60 km approx)

29 Sept 2013

7.00 a.m.              Trek to Tambdi Surla Waterfall – starting from the 13th Century Temple.  Trek passes through semi-evergreen- evergreen forest One and half hours walk one way

1.00 a                    Lunch

3.00 - 7.00            Trail to Satpal arboretum and around for birding, insect watch

8.00 p.m.             Dinner.  (Day Travel 25 km approx)

30 Sept 2013

 6.15                       Leave for Bondla

7.00-11.00           Birding and nature walks at Bondla

1.00-2.00              Lunch at Bondla

3.00-7.00              Birding around Bondla

7.30                        Reach Nature’s Nest . (Day Travel 60 km approx)

1 Oct 2013

7.00-8.30              Birding at Collem

8.30- 9.00             Breakfast

9.00-12.30           Dudhsagar Waterfall Safari .

1.30-2.30              Lunch

3.30-5.30              Nature walk to Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary .   (Day Travel 25 km approx)

2 Oct 2013

Morning  - Dolphin trip post breakfast followed by visit to a fort (subject to running of boats) / Nature Trail.

Lunch

Time for shopping  (Day Travel 100 km approx   )  

Drop at Madgaon station  for evening train ( 10112  Kokan kanya Exp  )
