Tandulwadi fort lies 5 k.m. east of Saphale Railway Station and is good for one day trekking. One can get a good view of Vaitarna and Surya river from here.
The route is very steep and goes over some rocky portions. On the top there are many water tanks, a monsoon lake and remnants. The fort was mainly used as a watch tower in ancient times.
The itinerary for the Trek is as given below:
Meeting point: Swami Narayan Mandir, Dadar (E) at 6.00am on Sunday 25th Aug, 2013.
Pick up points: Andheri@ Bisleri Company, Thane @Fountain Hotel (Ghodbunder Road).
Travel by private vehicle
Reach Base Village 09:00am
Breakfast at the Base VillageStart our trek by 09:30 am
Reach the Top, Lunch, Explore.
Start Descend @ 2:00pm
Reach the base till 5:30 pm.
Start the return journey,
Evening Refreshments enroute
Reaching Dadar by 8.30 pm tentatively.
