Come join us as we, at Trek Mates India, plan for you a Bike Ride to Ladakh from 28th June to 13th July

3. Khardung la – The Highest Motorable road
4. Pangong Lake – The largest lake of Asia.
5. Lamayuru – the Moon Land
6. Tibetian style monasteries
7. Dal lake – Srinagar’s Jewel
8. Sonmarg enroute....
and many more beautiful and exciting places
and the last but not the least – The Hemis Festival
And we would also have a tempo traveler / Car along with us for people who are not interested in the bike ride.
A brief Explanation of the tour
The manali- Leh road is one of the most exciting and
scenic biking trails anywhere across the country, crossing as it does four high
passes over the great Himalayas and the parallel Pir Panjal and Zanskar range.
The route which any biker would like to visit at least once in his life time.
And the beauty which mesmerizes anyone in his first look.
Hemis
Festival: It is a buddhist festival and held in
commemoration of the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava.
The two day peagent is marked with the victory of good
over evil where local people are seen with their colorful attire. The festival
is organized by Head of Lama.
Hemis is colorful festival showcasing the beautiful
handicrafts of the region. The festival is also famous for the "devil dances" that
constitute an important element in the social entertainment of Ladakhis. The
major attractions are the masked dances,
that depicts the victory of right over the evil. "Chang" A country
liquor is been served on this occasion.
The planning for the event will be as
follows:
Day 1: 28th June:
Meet at Bandra Terminus at 10.30 am
Start from Mumbai by Train (Paschim
Express) by 11.30 am.
Day 2: 29th June:
Reach Chandigarh by 4.30 pm
Collect bikes from the Railways.
Stay in Chandigarh.
Stay in Chandigarh.
Day 3: 30th June:
Chandigarh to Manali - 310 Kms
Day 4: 1st July:
Stay in Manali.
(Purposely for bike servicing/Acclimatization)
Day 5: 2nd July:
Manali- Rohtang Pass- Koksar- Tandi-
Keylong - 120 km Ride
Day 6: 3rd July:
Keylong- Darcha - sarchu -Pang- 220 km Ride
Day 7: 4th July:
Pang Tanglangla- Rumtse- Upashi- Leh- 195
kms Ride
Day 8: 5th July:
Leh to Pangong- 160 Kms Ride
Enroute visit Thiksey Monastry and Shey
Palace
Stay at Pangong lake
Day 9: 6th July:
Pangong Lake to Leh - 160Kms
Also visit Hall of fame army Museum in Leh City
Day 10: 7th July:
Visit Hemis
Monastry for Hemis Festival
Day 11: 8th July:
Ride to Khardungla and back: 80 Kms
Also visit Leh Palace and Leh Local Market
Day 12: 9th
July:
Leh to Kargil - 220 Kms Ride
Day 13: 10th
July:
Kargil - Drass - Jojila end - Sonmarg -
Gagangir - srinagar – 210 kms
Day 14:11th July:
Dal Lake, Mughal Gardens and Local
Sightseeing 50-80 kms
Day 15: 12th
July:
Bike transfers by Gati Courier.
Day 16: 13th
July:
Fly back to Mumbai
Total Bike ride: 1800 kms Approx.
The Expenses
The whole tour is on Actual. Which
means the expense will be shared equally among the members as well as the
leaders and coordinators.
Trek Mates India will be charging INR 4000 per head as
expertise charges.
The approximate expense for
the event will be INR 35000/- for bike riders, or 40000/- for 4 wheel tourists.
Inclusions:
1. To Sleeper class train tickets
2. Accommodation on Triple sharing basis in Hotels and sharing basis in tents
3. All Meals (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
4. Permissions wherever necessary
5. Utility vehicle (For broken down Bikes and accessories)
6. Transportation by Jeeps (for 4 wheel tourists)
7. Bike Transportation charges (Mumbai – Chandigarh & Srinagar – Mumbai
by Cargo)
8. All Taxes
