Situated
at the border of Thane-Raigad districts is
known more for the Dargah of Malang Baba, halfway up
the mountain. But above the Dargah there is a much more hidden
thrill for the trekkers, which one may not expect.
Shri Malang Gad is situated at a distance of
13 K.m. from Kalyan. Kalyan is well connected to Mumbai by rail as
well as road. Frequent S.T. buses are available from Kalyan S.T.
station to the base. About one and half hours climbing by steps will
take you to the Dargah. 20 mins from Dargah up to the mountain will
take you to the Balekilla (citadel).
The pinnacle of the Shri Malang Gad is supposed to be the real challenge
for the professional trekkers, but for amateur trekkers reaching the pinnacle by
a very very narrow path should also be a thrilling
experience.
Caution : There are lots of huge monkeys on Peer and Malang Machi. They try to grab your bags if you leave them aside. Also they known to open bags and/or snatch things
from pockets and hands.

The tentative itinerary for the Trek is as given below:
Meeting Point: Kalyan Station, Platform no 1, at 07.05 am Sharp.
We will be leaving by CST - Kalyan Slow Local
Time Table -
05:42 am: Byculla
05:52 am: Dadar
06:03 am: Kurla
06:09 am: Ghatkopar
06:30 am: Thane
06:52 am: Dombivali
07:01 am: Kalyan

Move to Base Village by Local Transport.
Have Breakfast at the Base Village.
Start Trek till Haji Malang top by 10am.
Reach the Top by 1pm
Explore the Fort.
Lunch time.
Post Lunch start descending.
Reach Base Village by 6pm
Evening Snacks at Base Village.
Start our return journey.
Reach Kalyan by 8pm
Reach Mumbai by 9pm.The cost for the trek is Rs 350/- per head which includes
