Hi friends, we at Trek Mates, have arranged a trek to Matheran via Garbett point on 6th Sept.

The climate of Matheran is very cool. The most unforgettable things about Matheran are deep forest and the waterfalls nearby, especially in rainy season. The beauty of the hill station gets doubled in monsoon. Matheran is truly 'The Best Hill Station in Maharashtra.

Matheran is most splendid hill station in Maharashtra; it covers an area of 8 square kilometers in Sahyadris. This lovely spot was discovered in 1850 by Hugh Poyntz Malet, the collector of Thane district. Garbett point is located on South-west side of Matheran with grand view of the plateau below.

The tentative itinerary for the Trek is as given below:

We start with the second Karjat local.
Meet each other in the local itself. And get down at Bhivpuri stn.
Breakfast and then Start our trek by 9 am.
Reach the Garbett plateau in next 3 hrs.
Explore the Garbett plateau and lunch.
Proceed to Garbett point and then to Dasturi point.
If time permits we will try to cover any nearest point.
(In such case one need to enter into Matheran and will have to pay entry fee of Rs.25. This fee will be bound to members.)
Take Taxi till Neral station
Reach the base till 5 pm.
Refreshment and start our Back journey.

The cost for the trek is Rs 180/- per head which includes
Travelling from Bhivpuri to Neral,
Breakfast and evening refreshments.

Things To Be carried:
Identity proof (must)
Lunch For Sunday,
Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
A bottle of water (atleast 2 Ltrs),
Towel, a napkin, Extra Pair of clothes
TORCH with extra batteries (compulsory).
Camera(Optional)
Cap, etc.
Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)
A good trekking shoes,
A haversack to put in all the things to be carried....so that one has ones hands free while trekking.
Pleases do not carry sling bags or Jholas.
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
