Trek from Lonavala to Bhimashankar on 26th Sept ’09-28th Sept’09 with Trek Mates.

Trek Mates is very glad to announce most awaited trek i.e. Trek from Lonavala to Bimashankar for the trek lovers.

This is one of the toughest treks, as distance needs to be covered is closed 70 to 75 Kms. It’s an ancient trade route. It is an old trade route where you can actually see the old built route with the help of stone.
This is an awesome trek giving us chance to enjoy each and every feature of Sahyadri weather it is steep falls to Konkan, huge plateaus or dense forest .

The itineraries for the trek are as follows:
26th Sept’09, Day 1:
3 am: Meeting point : Lonavala Station, Platform no. 1, Near ticket window,
(As it is difficult to accommodate 15-20 people in a train as all the trains get full at CST itself it is advised to the participants to look after travelling part till Lonavala.
Mumbai People can reserve their seats in Mahalaxmi Exp/Siddheshwar Exp/Mumbai Chennai Howrah Mail or they can opt for Bus as per there convenience.
Pune people can opt for bus anytime)

4 am: Start our trek from lonavala,
7 am: Reach Valvand village, and Breakfast (Thepla and Tea)
8 am: Start trek towards Kusur
2 pm: Lunch at the top of the plateau,
4 pm: Reach Kusur Gaon,
6 pm: Reach Sawale Gaon,
Dinner and stay

27th Sept’09, Day 2:
4 am: Wake up get refresh,
5 am: Start trekking towards Padharwadi
7 am: Reach Padharwadi and Breakfast (Maggie and tea),
8am: Start trekking
12:30pm: Lunch break,
4pm: Reach Bhimashankar,
Visit Gupt Bhimashankar and Temple,
Dinner and stay at Bhimashankar

28th Sept’09, Day 3:
6 am: Wake up and get refresh,
And have Breakfast,
8:30 am: Visit Nagphani
Start descend via Ganesh/Sheedi ghat till khandas
2 pm: Reach Khandas and have lunch
5 pm: Reach karjat
(Note: As from Bhimashankar direct ST buses are available, so descend via Ganesh/Sheedi ghat is optional for participants)

Cost of the trek is Rs 650 per head which includes all the expenses from Lonavala to Karjat.


Things to be carried:
Identity proof(Must)
Lunch for 26th Sept’09(Must)
Maggie (1 packet each) (Must)
Biscuits, Plum cakes, Dry Snacks, Chocolates, Health Drinks etc
3 litres of water, (Must)
Candles and TORCH with extra batteries (Must)
Towel, a napkin, Extra Pair of clothes
2-3 bunch of papers
Good Waterproof Bedding, (must)
A plate, mug, and spoon (compulsory),
Windcheaters,
Keep space in your bag as load distribution will be done.
Its raining heavy these days, so pack yr bags accordingly to save them from getting wet.
Camera(Optional)
Cap, etc.
Medicine those if you require usually,
Good trekking shoes, extra pair of socks
A haversack to put in all the things to be carried....so that one has ones hands free while trekking.(Please do not carry sling bags or Jholas.)
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments


Its not a difficult trek but requires endurance.
We will be covering a distance of about 70 km in three days.
Its a raw trek, basic food and shelter facilities will be provided.
Its a group activity so each and every member will be allotted some or other responsibility.
