Matheran: (The most unpolluted Hill-Station of Maharashtra)The climate of Matheran is very cool. The most unforgettable things about Matheran are deep forest and the waterfalls nearby, especially in rainy season. The beauty of the hill station gets doubled in monsoon. Matheran is truly 'The Best Hill Station in Maharashtra.
Matheran is most splendid hill station in Maharashtra; it covers an area of 8 square kilometers in Sahyadris. This lovely spot was discovered in 1850 by Hugh Poyntz Malet, the collector of Thane district. Garbett point is located on South-west side of Matheran with grand view of the plateau. Descend via Sunset point leads to Dodhani village on Panvel side.

The tentative itinerary for the Trek is as given below:We will be starting with the Karjat fast Local (time-table given below)
Meeting Point: 23:15 @ Bhivpuri Road Station on 18th Jan '14.
Start trek at 23.30
Reach the Garbett point in next 4hrs.
Rest for some time.
Proceed to Market for Breakfast & explore for some time
Proceed to One Tree Hill Point & start descend towards Ambewadi village
Reach Ambewadi by 12:00 noon & lunch
Catch Private Vehicle towards Karjat
Reach Karjat by 16:00
Back to Mumbai by 19.00 approx.

Some ready to eat food. Plum cakes, Biscuits etc.
A bottle of water (atleast 3 Ltrs) must
TORCH with extra batteries (must)
Proper Bedding, (Prefer to carry a Sleeping Bag)
Bunch of Papers, Camera, Cap etc.
Medicine those if u require usually (Optional)
A good trekking shoes, extra pair of flotters.
A haversack to put in all the things to be carried....so that one has ones hands free while trekking.
Pleases do not carry sling bags or Jholas.
Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
